THE DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF SINUSITIS IN CHILDREN

Abstract
|
|
|
The frequency and behavior of sinusitis in children are influenced by the embryologic and anatomic differences of the infant´s nose and sinuses.
Acute sinusitis in children almost always responds to conservative managements as bed rest, antibiotics, etc.
Chronic sinusitis occurs more often in association with a congenital anomaly or nasal allergy, and also treats with conservative managements.
If conservative management fails, surgical method is employed to remove only the diseased mucosa and bone.
